The 2012 NSW Variety Bash is on! This year the convoy will go from Balmain in NSW, up through the middle of Queensland, up to the very tip, to Bamaga, on Cape York.

You can't get much further north in Australia than that. Well you can, and that would be on Thursday Island, and we're going there, too (by boat from Bamaga).
The trip from Balmain to Bamaga, through the route we're taking, is about 4,200KM. With rough roads & incredible scenery!
The convoy of cars, will be leaving on Sunday, August 19, going until Tuesday, August 28.
The Bash is not a race or a rally and speed is not important. What really matters is that everyone has an enjoyable time travelling in parts of Australia they would not otherwise see, at the same time raising money for our special needs children.

Effie (1974 Ford) will be driven in the Variety Bash 2012 by Ian Stewart, for those of you who haven't yet met Ian, he is the Owner of 1st Choice Appliance Rentals. He is also a Ford man, and is very excited to be participating in this fantastic fundraising event.
The Bash is all about raising money for Variety, the Children’s Charity.
This year Car 25 Effie's aim is to raise more than $20,000 to contribute to the Variety Childrens charity. We welcome any contribution – great or small – that you could make! Please
